Cooperativa di Bessimo The Bessimo Cooperative is a social cooperative that has been operating since 1976 mainly in the field of rehabilitation and reintegration of drug addicts. The first community was opened in a house in the parish of Bessimo di Rogno (BG) by priest Don Redento Tignonsini. The cooperative offers socio-medical and social services and individualized educational paths, welcoming people with addiction problems and minors in difficulty, in order to improve the quality of life. All personnel are selected through interviews and aptitude tests, followed by a permanent training course. As of January 2022 the Bessimo Cooperative manages: • 14 residential therapeutic communities for men, women, women with children, minors / young people and families of drug addicts; • a Low Intensity Assistance Service; • an educational community with an annexed apartment for autonomy for minors and mothers in difficulty; • a specialist service for pathological gambling; • a network of apartments for social housing, external penal execution, serious marginalization; • damage reduction services with fixed headquarters and street units in the cities of Brescia, Bergamo, Crema, Cremona and Mantua; • support services (Reception Service, Administrative Office, Legal Office); • a counseling service for adolescents and young people; • a counseling service aimed at family members of people with addiction problems; • a night reception in Brescia in network with other entities; • support services for people in difficulty (condominium tutor in Cremona); • support services to people in prison and in external penal execution with addiction problems in Brescia, Bergamo and Cremona; • a day center within the prison of Brescia for detainees with psychic fragility and addiction, risk prevention and limitation interventions; All the offices of the Cooperative are located in the provinces of Brescia, Bergamo, Cremona and Mantua. Each residential community can host from seven to a maximum of twenty-six people (in addition to children). In the Reception Phase and in the Reintegration Phase, the Cooperative actively collaborates with various reception centers and with other social cooperatives for work reintegration, present in Lombardy.
