Doppia Difesa was established in 2007. The will of the founders is to help those who have suffered discrimination, abuse and violence but do not have the courage or the ability to undertake a police report. These women are often unaware of their status as victims as they live in conditions of ideological and/or social isolation, in silence or in general indifference. Violence against women is a widespread and multifaceted phenomenon: it occurs in every social stratum and affects women of all ages. The battle against violence must also be waged in the field of education and cultural renewal. For over ten years, Doppia Difesa has been committed to convincing women never to accept violence, under any circumstances or in any form. Doppia Difesa works in activities to support and give protection to victims and to raise awareness and promotion of “zero tolerance” towards discrimination, abuse and violence. It promotes public awareness initiatives on issues concerning discrimination, abuse and violence, including through short films and social campaigns. Doppia Difesa collaborates with operators, psychologists and lawyers, who deal with the first reception, counseling and psychological and/or legal assistance.
