Emprende Tributa

Emprende-Tributa is a project from the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, aiming to strengthen entrepreneurs’ abilities to create or continue their business during and after the country’s existing health emergency. Students who participate in the project help entrepreneurs coming from different marginal urban sectors of Guayaquil, Ecuador. They provide technical support to analyze the feasibility of their business ideas while helping them with their tax obligations. Emprende-Tributa uses educational and technological platforms to achieve its goal. The project aims to help reduce unemployment, improve people’s living conditions, and reactivate economic stituation of families from city’s marginal urban sectors. Additionally, we provide tax education so that the direct beneficiaries’ businesses will abide by the law obtaining a Single Taxpayer Registry (RUC by its acronym in Spanish), thus contributing to the country’s economy. It is essential to highlight that this project contributes to the eight sustainable development goal: Decent work and economic growth. This goal aims to promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. For the academic period of June – September 2020, we had 81 beneficiaries. They were instructed and advised on entrepreneurship, taxation, food safety, and processes. Their businesses also received a logo for their brand.
