Fondazione Archè
Arché Foundation was founded in 1991 in Milan on the initiative of Father Giuseppe Bettoni in response to the pediatric HIV emergency. Today the foundation offers support and care services to children and vulnerable families so they may achieve autonomy in a social, work and housing context. The projects are carried out in Milan, Rome and San Benedetto del Tronto. Activities and services offered: • Reception in the community: welcomes mothers and children with problems related to ill-treatment, migration, social and mental hardship and helps them re-plan a better future. • Hospital services: it supports vulnerable children and families with reception and care services. • Support for families: the foundation supports mothers and children with problems of social and mental hardship or affected by HIV (AIDS) and personal frailty in hospitals and in daily life, integrating with institutions. • Social Housing: it offers temporary accommodation in apartments for mothers and children taking their first steps towards independence and for families with minors in difficulty. • Citizenship education: Archè promotes a culture of supportive citizenship by training in schools and universities and by organizing meetings and public events. • Work inclusion: Archè helps its guests with a path of job placement also via the cooperatives and social enterprises born from the foundation itself. • Beyond the Penalty: the foundation pays attention to difficulties faced by mothers and children in penitentiary institutions and accompanies them along a growth path. • Study Center: through which it carries out research projects and training activities which, operating at different levels, are internal and external to Arché in the various academic, institutional and popular fields. The aim over the years is to improve the services already provided, to experiment with innovative operating models and to create a transnational partnership, especially in Europe.
